The lack of drive for development is a pressing issue that needs to be addressed. Particularly, speaking on infrastructural development, the reluctance of contractors to complete projects is really alarming.
According to a shop owner, this is an NDDC project awarded to a contractor. The contractor, following the award of the contract, first dug drainage to contain the size of the rods as shown above; after which he abandoned it.
After abandonment, the drainage continued to expand. Subsequently, many individuals (children and adults) have slipped inside and most of them sustained serious injuries.
The road is barely motorable, vehicles get stuck. In the rainy season, the condition is worse.
Residents have gotten accustomed to the condition as it is a norm in our country. They don’t even know the contractor and the reason for abandonment.
This is a call for those in different positions to have a conscience as humans because the online time attention will come is when someone loses his/her life to the rods in that drainage.
