Amotekun Rescue Three Church Travellers In Ondo

The Western Nigeria Security Network known as Operation Amotekun have successfully rescued three church travellers on the verge of being kidnapped on Sunday in Ondo State.

The travellers who were identified as Adewale Adebayo (52), Ahan Mary (21), and Ladi Bude (23), were reportedly held hostage at gunpoint alongside other church members while travelling from Benue State to Akure.

The kidnappers who disguised as motorists whose vehicle had broken down along Ifira-Akoko-Idoani road signalled for assistance from the unsuspecting driver who eventually stopped to give a hand.

Afterwards, the kidnappers proceeded to march them into the forest surrounding the area but were unaware of other motorists who immediately notified the security group on seeing the suspicious act.

Personnel from the security group soon after proceeded into the forest and rescued the three travellers as well as arresting two suspects.

Ondo State Commander of Amotekun, Chief Adetunji Adeleye who confirmed the rescue operation also assured that the group was still combing the forest for the other abducted travellers and other suspect kidnappers.

“We thank God for the release of the victims though our men are still on ground combing the bush. Our personnel responded immediately after the distress call and were able to rescue the victims.” he said.
