The Governor of Benue, Samuel Ortom, has banned all his appointees from engaging in any political campaigns towards the 2023 elections, stating his disinterest in the upcoming elections.
Orton gave this order yesterday at the Government House in Makurdi warned that defaulters will be highly sanctioned.
“I am not interested in any 2023 election for now, likewise to all appointees in my government. I decided to ban all campaigns. As of today, no appointee of government is allowed to campaign for 2023, and if any must do that, I demand a resignation letter from such a person,” he said.
He further explained that it was too early to hold such campaigns, as he has two and a half years still to go.
