The kidnappers of two Chinese gold miners in Osun State have contacted the state’s Police and demanded a ₦10million ransom to be paid for their release.
This was communicated to newsmen by the Spokesperson for the Osun State Police Command, SP Yemisi Opalola on Wednesday.
The two Chinese miners identified as Zhao Jian (33) and Wen (50) were captured on Monday by suspected gunmen at a gold mine in Okepa/Itikan village, Ifewara, Atakunmosa-West L.G.A. of Osun State after shooting two private guards hired by the miners.
Yemisi told newsmen that the command has intensified its efforts by working hand in hand with other security operatives to rescue the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.
